This installation examines the unseen labor embedded within early digital infrastructures. It focuses on magnetic-core memory, a form of computer memory used in the 1960s and 1970s, including in NASA’s Apollo missions. Women recruited from nearby textile factories, valued for their manual skills, hand-wove this memory from thin copper wire.

Here, a replica of this memory stores quotes and testimonies from and about these workers, bit by bit, onto magnetic rings. Alongside it, archival promotional footage of the manufacturing process is gradually altered as these texts are digitally inscribed into the image itself.
